About Us
Rooted in the Crystal Coast since 1983.
Rooted in the Crystal Coast since 1983, The Pool & Patio Store is built on decades of expertise and genuine community care. Originally founded by Byron’s father, Bryon Knight, and his uncle, Al Sny, the business was purchased by Byron and Della Knight in 2005, who shifted the focus toward professional maintenance, specialized services, and a premium selection of spas and hot tubs. Today, they operate two hubs: a retail-focused location in Cape Carteret that specializes in high-volume water testing and residential supplies, and a Morehead City location that serves as the primary base for their extensive maintenance operations and service plans for both residential and commercial clients. While the team has grown to about 18 employees, the heart of the operation remains a close-knit effort led by Byron and Della, who both prioritize superior customer service and a deep commitment to educating every customer.
Family Owned & Operated
A true family legacy.
This dedication to the region is a true family legacy, with their daughter Claire currently mastering every facet of the business—from field service and staff training to administration—as she gauges her interest in potentially taking the lead in the future. As local residents who have raised their family in the area, Byron and Della prioritize neighborly service and customer education over corporate growth. Whether they are conducting expert water tests for a neighbor or managing maintenance plans for commercial properties, the team remains focused on empowering the community with the knowledge and support needed to enjoy the coastal lifestyle.
